Dear Golfers:
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share with you the news of Austin’s passing on the 18th of
March. Our little hero lost his, almost, 11 year battle. The one thing that keeps us all going is
that Austin is no longer in pain. That means that Austin is as free as he could be, and that is
huge for us. We know that Austin is in Heaven, and we know that we have to move on with our
lives. So we are asking all of you to help us celebrate the joy of Austin, the good life he had, and
the impact he had on all of us.
Let’s make the “7th Annual Austin Jay Fund – Memorial Golf Tournament Benefiting the
Children’s Hospital” the best one EVER!!!
Save the date of Sunday, June 29th (Austin’s Birthday) for our tournament this year at the
Coyote Creek Golf Course in Fort Lupton. Tournament check-in will start at 8:00 am with a
9:00 am shot-gun start. Dinner will be served after all players have finished the tournament.
Cost to play: $115 per person, $300 to sponsor a hole, or $750 to sponsor a team.
In 2007, we were able to raise our donation to The Children’s Hospital to over $33,480. A
SPECIAL THANKS to Kathy Bonitz and Skip Bartholomew for the donation of $8,000 that
they raised in their golf tournament for Austin’s Fund!!! This is the year that we could go
over $150,000 for total dollars raised for The Children’s Hospital, and with your support we
believe that it is possible. Our goal is 144 golfers and, of course, any money we raise is a bonus.
So, as you are planning your summer vacations, mark your calendars for Sunday, June 29th.
There will be a silent auction and big prizes to give away (including a Hole-in-One Car donated
by Purifoy Chevrolet).
This year, a 2007 National League Champions Colorado Rockies themed KEGERATOR
(ARV $1200) will be raffled off. Every player that enters the tournament gets one ticket, and you
can buy more chances to win for $15.00 a ticket on the day of our tournament.
